Amr,

I am busy working away but I could not resist viewing your page.
And how exciting, your plaza doubles as a playground? I can hardly wait till the next posting.

Also, your space allocation and layout is exciting as well. The central studio with the remaining spaces radiating from the nucleus (studio), is quite promising.

The studio will act as a prominent energy for the building.

Amr,
Good thoughts! I always love looking for your next post. I wanted to ask you to verbalize your thinking process on your Rough Program Structure image. You seem to have depicted what I was attempting to explain my project description , which you seemed to question my thinking on. You stated: “would the centralization and Core position of the classrooms contradict with functions of the additionl elements (as you call them!!!!) ? Are we creating classrooms or an integrated learning facility elements?” I guess I am throwing these questions back to you. I think personally that placing the studios at the core does not have to contradict with the functions of the other spaces. I am still working on producing a central zone which contains the academic area with the classrooms at the center.

In my perspective, the classroom settings are different than the Studio settings.

Studio is an active place that fulfill my goal of an active bau-biology, a place of move, (every one has to work) in the heart of the place, between the bedrooms.
You won’t wake up in the middle of the night to attend a class, but you would love to make it to the studio. (I wish I had my bedroom next to the studio in the intensive).

Classrooms academic settings is calm, most of the time its 1 person effort “The lonely teacher works and others listen”. The presence of a place with this low level of activity and move would create the dead heart of the building.

The most active element in the body is the heart it can’t stop for a minute, otherwise the building die.

My earlier line drawing was a study I did to testify how the different 3 sector spaces, with an angel that reflects the percentages create spaces relationships when they overlay or connect.
Then I realized that the Studio of the education sector is the key in this project, nothing else.

However as you said its too early now, All what I am studying here is the relationships between different spaces and how they could put together and work together to create the integral space.

Thank you for asking me back my question, you helped me verbalize my draft program Idea, although I believe that architecture is all about lines not words. When I start writing I feel I am getting away from my job -).

Thanks
Amr

Amr,

Great graphics. I perceive your spaces differently with each diagram. I have focused more with the round bubbles as they show to me more relationship intent than previous. Your organization is great. I see your exhibit space seems very "priavte" to the studios and my first impression after reading the project was this is a more public space? Interesting. I look forward to more.
