The Interior includes Medittranean trees, French Coast Rocks and a all way long Waterfall, The interwoven system of distributing the studio spaces A, B, C, D and E in diffrent levels that doesnt overlap with each other in section to provide the full view from the 4 glass walls of each studio space within the park, awarding teh students and staff a park-like studio space experience.

I am still working on the underground parking level as well as other plans and still working on the above especially the sections.

Next Post Soon....
A text Walk-through
Longitudinal Section
3 more Details.
Trees specifications used and details of planting and Rocks.

I am still working on my code analysis, I learn alot from Jaclyn latest Post of Zone, its a great work.

For time concerns and very tight budget of the project -:) i decided to delete the Typhoon Theatre, Architarium and Student's Forum. may be next Phase...........
That will bring my Program Total Area down from 29200 SF to 25000 sf . I would post the GFA soon when i am totally done with working on plans.

Please Advice.

Amr,

Should of known you would be up too at this time... :)

I wanted to drop by quickly and then get back to my work. I really like your sunlight diffusing sculpture. Have you seen the works of Arthur Ganson? Your sunlight diffuser reminds me of his work. Your site plan conveys your idea of working among the trees nicely.
I am working on code analysis and I wonder if your parking garage is within the fire rating requirements? Jaclyn could you advise on this?

I will check back to see.

Kara,
I will look it up in the Massachusets State Building Code,
Generally my Garage will have to be all concrete althhough the upper structure is steel and i will have spinklers. I want to use methods to get as many hours for the garage to handle fire before the building fall down, this is good for firemen to have as much time as they need to stop the fire.
Keep up your good work, looking to see your post soon.

Amr,
Great images. I have a couple questions for you. The first was the layout of some of the student rooms. I am wondering if you might want to flip the ones that have the bathrooms on the balcony side. I would think the student may want to be able to have a view out a window to the green studio spaces. If you are attempting to connect the students to Boylson so they have views other than the space they are in 90% of the time then I would leave it as is. The other remark is I would love to see an elevation of the south facade. I can't envision it yet. I get a sense of it from the sections but would love to see materials and finishes of the south side. Good work! Not much time left!

Jaclyn,
Thank you very much for your input, I will post teh south elevation soon, so please check it and tell me what you think of it,
Since each Dorm has its own little balcony that looks at the park inside. I think its enough for them and no need to flip the bathrooms to the south and opening a window for the students to have view to the studio park inside.

on the other hand i drather they have the window on the south looking at boylston, thats where they have the sunlight in the very early morning on their face and wake them up so they dont need Kind friends to give them a wake up call so they dont go early to lectures as usual -:) like me.

Who's giving wake up calls? :-) or tracking cell phones at T-stations? My friend, you bring happiness to the soul...Project is evolving quite nicely, is funny to see how spaces start to push onto each other and force us to analyze everything. If I may pick up on Jaclyn's recommendation or question on the location of the bathrooms, I agree with her. I know you already answer that, but look at it this way and go back and forth between your sections, there is no single soul drawn on the Boylston side of the graphic, all the attention is inside the bubble, why? because the space is off the hook. So, If I was going to wake up in one of these rooms, I would rather open my NANAWALL system, make myself a coffee or a "Chocolate Shake" and enjoy the balcony and fully opened bedroom. The shower could actually be the point where you fully wake up with the water hitting your face and the sun as well, refreshing....Not to mention seeing people walking down the street. Don't let them see you though.

Separate note, I am curious about your Tree species coming from the Mediterranean. If you get an environmentalist that is concerned about how much oil you will consume in transporting species from accross the globe and this is a Green project, then you could have a challenge arguing that.

It's 4:00 a.m. and I am still up, what's wrong with me? I saw you commented on Matt's blog around 3:00 a.m. This is crazy! Anyway, my last comment is that the proportions of the spaces on your sections are a bit tight. Floor to ceiling rations appear around 8 feet max. How would you do mechanical, or a fan, or lights. Check out section "BB", this could be adjusted quickly. Good luck and keep working hard.

Eddie,
You right, i did the height of the dorms and classrooms 2.8 meters which is like an ordinary appartment height, i should make it atleast 3-3.5 meters. I will correct that right now.

I am a medittranean Guy, And i love medittranean olive trees.

Where else you suggest that i bring trees from. that match that comfort zone level i show in my diagram?

well, we can buy some Medittranean
Tree species from Aquariums that has Medittranean exhibits around here, like Baltimore Aquarium, this way I can bring it with me on the train consuming much less oil -:) to please Mr. environmentalist.

Amr,

Do you sleep, I finally signed out around 4:30 this morning, but see you continued. Cool on fixing the sections. If you like your mediterranean trees I would try to find some sort of agency in the U.S. that recycles trees. There is got to be one, whenever there is a new project coming into an existing site, contractors and Landscape Architects remove the existing trees. So what if you found that company that purchases these trees and therefore you could relocate some of those to your project, you help to save the environment, save a tree, give people jobs, help the economy, keep the consumption of oil down. I just remember that the Genzyme had trees from all over the Globe. Hmmm....I wonder where they got them from? Good luck! :-)

Good Idea Eddie, This recycling Idea is good.
On Monday i will ask the Tour Guide in Genzyme where they got their medittrranean trees from?
